YEAR 5 Fun Holiday Activities
Seven packs: Prep, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. Each pack is 23 printable pages, in A4 PDF.
Holiday learning that feels like holiday fun.
These printable packs take children through the places Australian families actually go: the beach, the outback, the city, the bush, the backyard BBQ and the rainy-day cubby. There is one pack for each year level, Prep to Year 6, so the reading and writing suit your child or class.
Each pack is designed to be easy to read. The text is large and left-aligned, with plenty of space. Every word card shows the vowels in red. Stories for Prep to Year 3 are written one sentence per line. Every writing page has a small word bank, so children can focus on their ideas instead of worrying about spelling.
They are made with dyslexic learners in mind and work well for any child.

For parents
Keep reading and writing going over the holidays without a battle.
Short sessions, any theme in any order, and no wrong way to do it.
Go-and-do ideas turn real outings into talking points, and an at-home idea covers every rainy day.
Easy to read for a child who finds reading hard, and fun for every child.
Print only what you need, for your own children.
For teachers
A ready-made holiday or end-of-term pack for each year level, Prep to Year 6.
Differentiated by level: the reading, vocabulary and writing tasks step up from Prep to Year 6.
Word cards with red vowels, one-sentence-per-line stories (Prep to Year 3) and word banks support students who struggle with reading and spelling, without singling them out.
Works for a whole class, a small group, a reading intervention group, or as a take-home pack.
The Single teacher licence covers your own classroom and the School licence covers your school.
How to use it
Print what you need. Pick any theme in any order. Read the story out loud together first, then let your child read it. Try a go-and-do idea on your next outing. There is no wrong order, and your child does not have to finish it all.
Please note: This pack is a practice resource. It is not a replacement for specialist teaching.
